A shared love of horses. A life spent making jewelry.
We’re Rachel and Ian, the makers behind The Treasured Horse in Waterbury, Vermont.
Jewelry making brought us together creatively. Horses gave that work a direction that felt deeply personal.
Rachel brings more than two decades of jewelry-making experience, and Ian brings over ten years of silversmithing and CAD design. We both take part in designing and making our jewelry, combining careful digital modeling with casting, soldering, stone setting, and hand finishing.
The Treasured Horse grew from a desire to bring those skills together with something we love: the horses who become part of our lives.
Jewelry with a horse person’s heart
If you’ve loved a horse, you know how much can live in that relationship. The familiar greeting at the gate. The rides that stay with you. The quiet time together when nothing much happens, but you wouldn’t want to be anywhere else.
Our horsehair jewelry offers a way to carry a small part of that connection with you. Each custom piece holds hair from your own horse, whether you’re celebrating a partnership or remembering a companion you’ve lost.
We know the hair you send us can be irreplaceable. We handle it with care and return any unused strands with your finished jewelry.
That same love of horses inspires our equestrian collections. A dressage rider, a jumping horse, a horseshoe, or a barefoot hoofprint can feel personal without holding a single strand of hair. These designs celebrate the horses we love and the ways we spend our lives with them.

Our original designs bring together both of our skills, from the first model through the finishing work. Alongside our own creations, we offer selected equestrian pieces that complement the collection.
